I’d like to buy a plane ticket to your furthest destination today, you told the airline employee.

I put the blazer on and sprayed a little more cologne on my neck and hands. Looking in the mirror, I told myself, “Damn, you are one handsome motherfucker,” I was ready and walked towards the living room, and sat on the sofa, waiting, reading a magazine that was on the table.

“Let’s go, babe,” she said in a hurry.

I looked up and I am blown away. “This is the same dress she wore when we first met. The dress is good, but she looks even more beautiful than before,” and I am mesmerized by how beautiful she looked. “I got lucky,” I said out loud to myself, and hearing that she laughed. Another thing that I love about her, is the weird laugh that makes anything funny.

As I stood up, she replied the compliment, “You are looking dapper, babe” with a smile as she struggled to wear with her necklace, and me being the gentleman I am, helping her.

Both of us were ready to go on date. It has been such a long time since we officially went on a date like this. We did go out but it was something fairly regular, but the date feels different. Maybe the tryhards clothes were making it special.

We reached the restaurant. And settled on the table I had booked. It was a very good restaurant and the ambiance was on another level. It was dark enough where you wouldn’t see anyone except your companion sitting right in front of you. Her beautiful face lit as the light from the candles touched her face. I must say, I am really happy at this moment as it just seems perfect.

I looked into her brown eyes and I got lost in them. They were the prettiest and the way she smiled makes my day. “You are in love my friend,” I told to myself as I giggled, as the waiter stood right next to me asking for the order.

She looked really happy. As she glared around and her eyes were stuck on something. “What is it?” I asked her.

“Nothing,” she replied with a nervous tone and her face looked tense. “But this place is amazing. It has changed a lot over the years and it looks amazing.”

“Yes, true. After all, this is the first place we met. The place has changed and so have we.”

We ordered the food. I could tell something was bothering her, but she insisted that she is fine. And one thing that I have learned the hard way, is that if she says she is fine, don’t bother her, if you did bother her, she will get angry real quick. So I thought of something that worked every time, gave her some time, and hope that she would be fine.

I was having an amazing time. And the conversation is just as they are always, random and fun. She was starting to ease a little and soon a guy showed at the table. I assumed that it is the waiter, but when I looked up, he wasn't the waiter. He looked at her and smiled which I did not like a single bit. I stood up and asked him, “Who are you and what do you want?” I was starting to get furious, but I tried to control it.

He squared off and said, “Why don’t you ask your girl, overhear?”

By now I was getting really angry, as this guy stood right in front of me as if he was challenging me. I tried my best to stay calm, “Whoever you are, get out of here. I am not interested in …”

“But I am interested in her,” he replied.

I pushed him off. By now I was furious. And I had tipped off. She tried to calm me down but I wasn’t having any of it. The guy had fallen down and he came charging at me. And he both collided, and a brawl broke out. Both of us went at each other with pure disdain and soon the security showed up. We were separated and I was still furious. She grabbed my hand and pulled me out of the restaurant.

We were in the corner of the entrance as the security dragged that guy out. While passing he said, “Don’t trust that bitch. She is a liar. Don't fucking fall for her. Don’t make the same mistake I made. You idiot.”

After that moment we returned home. And we talked for the entirety of the night. My anger hadn’t settled and it wouldn’t until I get the answers. And the answers were unbearable. I thought I could take them, but I couldn’t. And that is when my trust was broken.

And the same morning I reached the airport and told the airline employee, “I’d like to buy a plane ticket to your furthest destination today.”
